We live in difficult times and requirements on scientific publications are constantly increasing. There are many scholars, researchers and scientists, who have no chance to publish in peer-reviewed journals and even less so in journals with non-zero impact. This is due to the narrow specialization of periodicals and last but not least due to administrative demands. Therefore, our new magazine only defines its content on an abstract level.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\">The magazine will provide a forum for the publication of basic and applied research in the field of social sciences. Contributions may generally be classified into one of the following three areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\">applied research (low level of abstraction) with an emphasis on practice<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\">combined basic and applied research \u2013 medium degree of abstraction<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\">basic research (high level of abstraction)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The aim is to provide a broad international platform for the mutual exchange of ideas and scientific approaches in the social sciences. We do not wish to create a closed specialized magazine, but rather an interdisciplinary periodical able to facilitate collaboration and the meshing of<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> social science topics. Studies will be subjected to an independent peer review procedure and accepted for\u00a0publication based upon two review assessment recommendations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\">Articles will be published in German or English. After editing, accepted articles will be published on the internet and in the printed periodicals, depending on space.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Finally, let me present brief, obligatory, but by no means formal, thanks to all who are involved in the creation of\u00a0the\u00a0magazine and support its publishing.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">On behalf of the editorial board,<\/p>\n<p align=\"RIGHT\"><strong>Prof. Dr. Rudolf Brabeck<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\"><strong>EINF\u00dcHRUNG<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\"><strong>CROSS-BORDER JOURNAL OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC STUDIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sehr geehrte Kolleginnen und Kollegen, liebe Freunde,<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">es freut uns sehr, dass Sie die erste Ausgabe unseres neuen Magazins lesen.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Seiner Entstehung ging eine angeregte Diskussion im Hinblick auf Orientierung und Ausrichtung voraus. Wir leben in dynamischen und komplexen Zeiten \u2013 auch die Anspr\u00fcche an wissenschaftliche Publikationen steigen kontinuierlich. Zahlreiche Wissenschaftler und Forscher haben keine M\u00f6glichkeit, in peer-reviewed Zeitschriften \u2013 und noch weniger in einschl\u00e4gigen, popul\u00e4ren Fachmedien \u2013 zu publizieren, verursacht durch enge Spezialisierung von Medien, nicht zuletzt bedingt durch administrative Regelungen.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Wir definieren unser neues Magazin \u00fcber die Ebenen der Abstraktion. Unser neues Journal soll Raum f\u00fcr die Ver\u00f6ffentlichung von Studien der Grundlagen- und Anwendungsforschung im Bereich der Gesellschaftswissenschaften \u2013 mit Hauptausrichtung Sozialwissenschaften \u2013 bieten. Unsere fachliche Ausrichtung l\u00e4sst sich durch folgende Typologie ausdr\u00fccken:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"de-DE\" align=\"LEFT\">Angewandte Forschung (niedriges Abstraktionsniveau) \u2013 mit dem Fokus auf den Praxis-Bezug,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"de-DE\" align=\"LEFT\">Bereich zwischen Grundlagen- und angewandter Forschung \u2013 mittleres Abstraktionsniveau,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\">Grundlagenforschung \u2013 hohes Abstraktionsniveau.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Unsere zentrale Absicht ist es, eine breite internationale Plattform f\u00fcr den Austausch von Ansichten und wissenschaftlichen Konzepten im Bereich der Gesellschaftswissenschaften zu schaffen. Ziel ist somit keine abgeschlossene spezialisierte Zeitschrift, sondern die Entwicklung eines interdisziplin\u00e4ren Periodikums, das die Zusammenarbeit und Durchdringung aktueller gesellschaftswissenschaftlicher Themen erm\u00f6glicht.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Studien werden einem unabh\u00e4ngigen Rezensionsverfahren unterzogen und nur auf der Basis von zwei empfehlenden unabh\u00e4ngigen Gutachten zur Publikation empfohlen.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Alle Artikel werden in deutscher oder englischer Sprache realisiert.
